Field day for Blue Star teams

Blue Star teams had a field day in the SIFF-Rabea Tea Champions League at the Hilal Sham Stadium near Khalid Bin Waleed Street here.
After Al-Rayan Polyclinic Blue Star Seniors edged a fighting Young Challengers Club (YCC) 1-0 in C Division, Nadec Blue Star B prevailed over Al-Noor Medical Center Jeddah Friends Junior 1-0 in A Division.
Earlier in the Al-Abeer Inter-School Champions League, Bangladesh International School outplayed DPS Al-Falah School 3-1. Bangladesh shocked its opponent by striking twice in 5 minutes. Tanveer Ahmed, Abdurahman and Tanveer Mehtab scored for Bangladesh while an own goal by Bangladesh captain Saud gave some relief to DPS. Abdurahman of Bangladesh School was adjudged the Player of the Match.
The league championship, organized by Saudi Indian Football Forum, is mainly sponsored by Rabea Tea and supported by Al-Abeer Medical Group, Jeddah National Hospital, TSS Advertising, Fathima Food Stuff, Gamon Group, Kathir Rice, Al-Ryan Polyclinic and Sharafiya Trading.
In the A Division match, Blue Star's Ashiq missed an open chance while Jeddah Friend's keeper Sainu was out of position. Jeddah Friends Junior took over the game and its Saneesh, Sameer Babu and Sameerulla created panic in the Blue Star goalmouth.
At the other end, Riyas Bava anchored most of the Blue Star moves and Moideen Kutty's dangerous kick was saved by keeper Sainul. Blue Star scored against the run of play when Moideen Kutty's free-kick beat rival keeper Sainul. Jabir Puthan Valappil was selected as the Player of the Match.
In the C Division match, Blue Star Seniors struggled to get the better of Young Challengers. Blue Star Seniors sounded a warning as Jassir's shot went out grazing the cross bar. YCC keeper Asghar was tested frequently by Nawas, Shafeeq and Jaseer.
After a goalless first half YCC played better but couldn't make use of the chances it created. Blue Star Seniors scored as its dangerous Shafeeq ran from left and fired from far, giving no chance to YCC keeper. Nishad Mon and Faisal tried their best to equalize but Blue Star defense held firm. Mohammed Shafeeq Karuvath of Blue Star was named the Player of the Match.
Friday's matches (from 8:00 p.m.): International Indian School vs. Novel International School (Inter-School), Indonesian International School vs. Adhab International School (Inter-School) and VLCC Blue Star A vs. ACC FC B (A Division).
