Pakistan Repatriation Council ( PRC ) celebrated the 136th birthday of Quaide Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, Founder of Pakistan, at Salt and Pepper restaurant in Jeddah on Monday, Dec.26. The function was hosted by Abdul Qayyum Waseq which started with a recitation from the Qur'an by Engr. Qari Asef, and a Na'at recited by Sher Afzal. Renowned poets Syed Mohsin Alavi, Abdul Qayyum Waseq, Zamurrad Khan Saifi, Syed Mahtab Ahmed recited poems in honor of Quaide Azam. Engr. Azeez Ahmed General Secretary of Pakistan Engineers Society praised PRC for holding the function on Qauide Azam. He said that achievement of Pakistan was a very difficult task which was only accomplished due to the strong, honest and dedicated leadership of Jinnah and he could not be compromised. Unfortunately it was dismembered in 1971 and our own citizens are languishing in Bangladeshi camps. We urge our government to take urgent measures to repatriate them. President of Urdu Markaz Athar Abbasi paid tribute to Quaid and said that he wanted to make Urdu as a national language. Shaikh Mohamamd Luqman said that the intense issues in which the country is suffering from can be solved if we adhere to the teachings of Quaide Azam, which is unity, faith and discipline. Gulab Khan praised the ideological commitment of Quaide Azam and his dream to make it true Islamic Welfare state. He is inspired by our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Hamid Islam Khan, Tariq Mahmood, Shamsuddin Altaf, Riaz Ghumman, also paid tribute to the great founder. Convener Ehsanul Haque thanked the guests, speakers and poets who attended the function. __
