Published in The Saudi Gazette on 22 - 12 - 2015

Huawei Consumer Business Group launched in November its latest device and newest member to the 8 family - the G8 smartphone in the Middle East. The device is ideal for young consumers looking for a smartphone that features enhanced technological capabilities at an affordable price.
The G8's hero feature is its groundbreaking camera that boasts a 13-megapixel sapphire lens made to capture moments with friends and family with exceptional clarity. The smartphone is equipped with smart functions, fingerprint technology and long lasting battery life making it user friendly and easy to use for a variety of functions on a day-to-day basis.
"When designing the G8, we were focused on creating a smartphone that really spoke to a younger audience to ensure that their wants and needs were not only meet but also, exceeded. The Huawei G8 offers advanced performance capabilities for seamless daily use with a particular focus on elements of the device that a younger audience wants. For example, the G8 features a longer lasting battery, enhanced fingerprint security and stronger connectivity keeping our consumers connected for longer periods of time,'' said Sandeep Saihgal, Vice President Huawei Consumer Business Group Middle East.
Capture the moment with Huawei's G8 camera, with its superb camera capabilities, which packs a 13-megapixel primary camera on the rear and a 5-megapixel front shooter for the perfect selfie. The device has an OIS (optical imaging stabilization) built into the rear camera for improved low light photography, and a dual LED flash which helps to light up subjects by enhancing the image brightness by 32% in high contrast conditions. Further, the camera has an outstanding sapphire lens, providing a mix of added benefits including extra scratch, wear resistance, better design and improved photo quality.
For those wanting to take the perfect selfie or to brush up their photographs, Huawei has partnered with a renowned beauty makeup company to develop the beautification technology to support real-time and post processing make up effects. Through its perfect selfie function, the G8's camera can recognize faces of presets targeted and automatically apply special beautifying effects to them. The phone also comes with a range of built-in filters to personalize the photographs and add a hint of fun to the phone.
The phone also features enhanced fingerprint technology for added convenience and peace of mind to the user. The second generation single touch fingerprint reader enables rapid unlocking speed of just 0.5 seconds, double the speed of the reader of the Huawei Mate 7. Further, the fingerprint reader can be used to take photos, answer calls as well as switch off the alarm all with a single gesture.
One of the key features of the G8 is its long powerful battery, with excellent connectivity, operating for longer hours. Thanks to Huawei's power saving technology, the G8 is capable of more than two days free of charge and of continuous eight hours of online video streaming, 10 hours of phone calls or six hours of online web browsing. These features make it an ideal phone for those who are out and about and wanting to always stay connected to friends and family and with the social world.
Huawei has designed the G8 with a smart dual antenna switching technology, which is capable of delivering a 40% improvement in connectivity quality and delivering twice as much as signal strength than similar devices.
Among the many special features and like Huawei's Mate 8, the body of the G8 is 90% metallic body, engineered using the industry's leading technology and offers a solid and premium feel. The Huawei G8 features a 5.5 inch display and is remarkably durable and with a user-friendly screen with 2.5D curved edges for improved visuals. Additionally, the slightly curved back cover and four-rounded angle edges and screen allows 3D-like visual effects.
The G8 maybe mid-range in terms of an affordable smartphone but what it does not have in price, it has in stunning visual appearance and brilliant phone capabilities including its camera and fantastic fingerprint sensor. The classy, all-metal integrated body of the Huawei G8 brings beauty and more balance to the user's lives and is available in in three different colors, silver, gold and grey.
