The miracle of this year's new budget, which is more than one trillion riyals, lies not in its enormous size or the amount of expenditure and surplus it forecasts, but in the fact that it comes at a time when many in the world around us are on the brink of collapse because of the financial crises and political upheavals they have been experiencing for years. The Kingdom is seen as an oasis of security and stability in a troubled and turbulent world. The political turmoil being experienced by some countries has affected their economies and has brought about financial uncertainty, while the Kingdom enjoys economic and political stability. This stability is the product of carefully thought out policies which provide a sound political and economic basis. The new budget is tangible evidence of this stability, which stems from the deep-rooted relationship between the nation's leadership and its people and their collective stand against those who have labored to sow the seeds of sectarian sedition in the Kingdom. May Allah protect our beloved country from such people and from their malevolent intentions, which lead nowhere but to the destruction of nations no matter what slogans may appear on the placards of the so-called Arab Spring. If the economies of the advanced countries in the world including America and those of the EU have witnessed disastrous financial collapses and political upheaval, then we should be even more grateful for the judicious and balanced economic policies followed by the Kingdom. These policies have saved the nation from the instability which others in the world are now facing and they have produced a budget which is unparalleled in the history of the Kingdom. This new budget clearly confirms that we are living in a country of security, stability and development. __
