The longest day without a selfie
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 10 - 12 - 2015

JEDDAH — A brief breakdown of Snapchat service led to many of its users in the dark on what went wrong, while allowing many others to transfer their attention to their Twitter and Facebook accounts in order to satisfy their urge to stay connected. But, for several hours ‘snappers' globally could not share or send their selfish and videos. Because of an error on Snapchat service, some Saudis on Twitter expressed their feelings towards this service interruption. Others posted hilarious comments about the snappers' businessmen and celebrities.
The break in service, which was down for long period of time with most of its primary features broken including logging in and loading and sending snaps, led its users to utilize other social media application until this issue was resolved.
One of the females on Twitter said, "How will I live?" Another female expressed her disappointment of the break by saying that she made dessert and Arabic coffee and kept it in the fridge so she can picture it and share it with people after the sunset. She added that she is sorry for her family because they will see the Snapshot late.
One of social media users explained that he kept opening and closing his device to solve the issue and, another thanked God for such a break since he could eat his lunch immediately, and not cold, since the people could not keep snapping the food to send to others.
Some users blamed the weather for the interruption in sharing pictures, while others wrote that videos and pictures of ugly women triggered this error.
Mamdooh Al-Radadi posted a tweet, asking what businessmen are doing without Snapchat and how those people are documenting their hard work. He also sarcastically said, how he frustrated he was without those lifestyle, action, restaurant, personal coverage, and events, and questioned how people will live these several hours of blackout without Snapchat?
