The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), the voice of the industry in the region, is set to unveil its new visual identity at the 10th Annual Forum on Nov. 18. "Our new logo represents the chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf, which is evolving in a scientific, transparent, innovative and unified way, making this sector very dynamic," said Dr. Abdulwahab Al-Sadoun, secretary general, GPCA. "The launch of a new visual identity during the important anniversary of our Annual GPCA Forum, one of the leading conferences for the global chemical industry, reflects the growth and transformation of our association, and celebrates GPCA's success in connecting our members through our activities and strategic pillars: advocacy, networking and thought leadership." The GPCA's new visual identity, designed by Dubai- based brand management agency The Message House, is based around the concept of the reaction of chemicals with each other. The design, made up of four equal ‘drops', uses the ‘P' of GPCA to create a chemical test tube, within which a variety of molecules represent the collective nature of GPCA. The color palette selected for the new identity includes colors that represent three individual elements: the Arabian Gulf, the sky and desert dunes. The organization's core values—advocacy, networking and thought leadership focused on the growth and prosperity of the petrochemical and chemical industry in the Arabian Gulf — are also represented with three dots above the ‘P'. "GPCA owes its existence and success to the cooperation and collaboration of its membership, which in turn is driven by the fact that in the complex world of chemicals, no single company can excel in every area," said Femke Baudoin, marketing and communications manager, GPCA. "The new visual identity is a strong reminder of the distinctive components that makes up this organization, making it a tool for storytelling for people who are both familiar and unfamiliar with the GPCA." The GPCA has grown from 60 member companies in 2006, to representing the interests of more than 249 organizations from the chemical industry. Presently, GPCA members account for more than 95% of the chemical output in the Arabian Gulf. The Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA) represents the downstream hydrocarbon industry in the Arabian Gulf. Established in 2006, the association voices the common interests of more than 240 member companies from the chemical and allied industries, accounting for over 95% of chemical output in the Gulf region. The industry makes up the second largest manufacturing sector in the region, producing up to $102.6billion worth of products a year. The association supports the region's petrochemical and chemical industry through advocacy, networking and thought leadership initiatives that help member companies to connect, to share and advance knowledge, to contribute to international dialogue, and to become prime influencers in shaping the future of the global petrochemicals industry. Committed to providing a regional platform for stakeholders from across the industry, the GPCA manages six working committees – plastics, supply chain, fertilizers, international trade, research and innovation, and responsible care – and organizes six world-class events each year. The association also publishes an annual report and regular newsletters.
