DECOFAIR witnessed remarkable response from visitors, on the second day, as they admired the diverse pavilions that varied from furniture, décor, home lighting, kitchen and garden design. Visitors from different segments from Jeddah and students of engineering or interior design admired the variety of products that is being displayed from many countries. Enas, a student of interior design who came to see the latest showcased in the field of décor, said that it is a great opportunity for her to see all these products in different pavilions and sections in just a few hours. Aly Ahmad, who works in the field of marketing, is visiting Decofair as it is a good opportunity for him to see what is new in the furniture industry and to meet with exhibitors and visitors. To him an exhibition though not in the same field of his work, is an occasion to mingle and meet with people. Nada Mohammad was fascinated by the designs of Candles that were displayed for the first time in Decofair. She revealed her fondness of candles but said that it is the first time to see these unique designs that combine copper and wood with candles and in different styles. Labeeb Qaseer, a Lebanese expert, praised Saudi Arabia's resolution to enable foreign companies of 100% ownership and that it reflects the Kingdom enthusiasm to draw remarkable investments especially in industries that boost national economy and its productivity. Ibrahim Alshaya, manager of Alshaya Home, said that there is still a remarkable difference in quality between local and imported products, noting that the high prices are due to outer factors such as the high cost of raw materials and manpower. Alshaya also highlighted the importance of Investment in Saudi market for foreign companies mainly for the growth volume in Saudi economy, the large size of the market up to 11 billion riyals annually, in addition to the security, stability and the assurance that the state guarantees investors' privileges. Alshaya also called for facilitating issuance of visas for specialized laborers in order to revive the industry. Wessam Bin Saif from Jana Design said that the décor industry volume is linked to development in real estate and construction, pointing to the total reliance on expatriate employees and laborers in décor because of the scarcity of qualified Saudis, despite the variety of institutes and colleges sections.
