[gallery td_select_gallery_slide="slide" ids="13135,13134"] Aqeel Jamil JEDDAH — They came, they spoke and won over the audience at the auditorium of the International Indian School Jeddah (girls section). Eloquent speakers from various international schools spoke on the topic "Tolerance leads us to a better world." They presented variety of views and impressed the audience with their oratory skills. Highlights of the contest were speeches by four different groups of 9th to 12 class students. Around 200 guests packed the IISJ girls auditorium. Ten teams of international schools from Jeddah and alumni team took part in the contest. The school which participated in the contest were IISJ Boys, IISJ Girls, DPS, Al Warood, Al Waha, Novel, Al Shathi, Al Ahdab, Mahad Al Uloom schools beside a team AMU Alumni's children. The participants focused on the life and ideas of tolerance from Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, the great reformist & the founder of Aligarh Muslim University and received thunderous applause from the audience. The chief guest of the function was a famous personality from the world of journalism Khaled Almaeena, Saudi Gazette editor-at-large. Guest of Honor was Head of Chancery Indian Consulate Raghib Qureshi. Other dignitaries included Najeeb Hashmi, IISJ managent committee member, Vice Principal IISJ boys Dr. Najeeb Qais, VP IISJ Girls Mrs. Farah, AMUA Office bearers & executive members, Azizurrab,Aqeel Jamil, Khan Nooruddin, Imran Ansari,Imtiaz Hussain,Wazeer Akhter, Asim Zeeshan, Ather Rasool, Rabnawaz Khan, Siraj Siddiqui, Arshad Saeed, Hasan Arabi, Anwar Bilgirami, & other Aligs were present. Prominent community members Jamal Qadri, Azhar Zai, Aziz Kidwai, Toastmasters, a large no of students, parents also attended the function. IISJ School retained overall Championship this year in a row. Hunaiza Maryam, Iman Aqeel Khan, Yara Ahmed and Shahana Abdul Hasan were declared Champions for class twelve, eleventh, tenth and ninth respectively. Ikhlas Bayazid and Samia Nishath secured second and third position in grade twelve; and Mohammed Hashir and Hira Abdul Wahid achieved second and third positions in grade 11, Shana Munjappa and Nihal Rao bagged second & third positions in grade tenth and Marwa Abdul Razak and Reniem Mohammed also secured second & third positions in grade ninth. Khalid Al Maeena inspired youth with his talk, what makes you different from others is your attitude he said. We should be tolerant and intolerance comes from jealousy, so accept the people as they are, don't be jealous of a person if he has better material things from you he advised. I am very impressed by the speakers he added. Raghib Qureshi appreciated the efforts of the students and their speaking skills, advised them to follow the path of tolerance, which is ultimately is the path of peace, he added. Azizurrab Vice president of AMUAJ welcomed the guests and highlighted contribution of Sir Syed for the community. He elaborated efforts of AMUA for the personality development of children. Aqeel Jamil Gen. Secretary emphasized on the importance of Public Speaking. Prizes and trophies were distributed by HOC Mr. Raghib Qureshi. Azizurrab, Nooruddin & Aqeel Jamil presented the Plaques to dignitaries. Aziziurrab, Imtiaz Hussain, Arshad Saeed, Hasan Arabi, Anwar Bilgirami & Najeeb Hashmi, Azhar Zai distributed the certificates. Asim Zeeshan & Aqeel Jamil hosted the function.
