Beggar caught with SR11,000 in cash

A beggar was arrested in front of a private hospital on Sitteen Road here with his day's collection of SR11,000. Anti-beggary officials said man was an Arab national in his 70s. The man would try to gain the sympathy of passersby pretending he is in dire health conditions. He was arrested by an anti-beggary squad and handed over to the police to face legal action.
Truck topples over and catches fire
ABHA — A truck toppled over and caught fire on Wadi Bin Hashbal Road in Asir province, seriously injuring its driver. Asir Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mohammad Al-Asmi said the Civil Defense personnel extinguished the fire while witnesses transported the driver to hospital.
Gas station, cafes closed down
TABUK — A gas station and two cafés were shut down for health and safety violations. Tabuk Civil Defense spokesman Col. Mamdouh Al-Enizi said the Civil Defense ran an inspection campaign to ensure that all health and safety regulations are strictly followed by all commercial establishments. Violating establishments will face legal consequences.
Health Affairs shuts down polyclinic
JAZAN — The Health Affairs shut down a polyclinic in Al-Dayer Bani Malik for multiple violations. Health Affairs Director for Private Sector Healthcare Dr. Mohammad Al-Rajhi said the directorate ran an inspection campaign to ensure all health sector establishments adhere to the regulations specified by the Ministry of Health. The medical complex was shut down because the medical staff were unlicensed, the vaccination procedures were poorly done and organized and the prevention and immunity program was weak and inefficient. The inspectors found the violations to be critical to the health of the patients.
Missing toddler found dead on Yanbu beach
YANBU — A toddler was found dead after he was reported missing near a Yanbu beach. Madinah Border Guard spokesman Col. Shabnan Al-Qarni said the 3-year-old boy strayed away while his parents were strolling on the beach of Industrial Yanbu Royal Commission. The family reported the toddler missing to the Border Guard. The guards found the toddler unconscious on the shore. Paramedics tried to revive him but he was unresponsive. He was taken to a nearby hospital where the doctors confirmed that the child had drowned in the seawaters.
Car thief arrested after hot chase
TAIF — The police arrested a man in his 30s after he allegedly stole a vehicle from a gas station. Taif Police said the man stole a vehicle parked at the gas station in Al-Sail Al-Sagheer in the northern part of the governorate. The man drove the vehicle in full speed heading toward Riyadh. He veered off the highway but the police managed to flatten the tires of the vehicles and stop him. The man was arrested and handed over to the prosecution authorities.
Saudi executed for murder
TAIF — A Saudi national convicted of running over and killing a fellow tribesman was executed in Taif on Monday, the Interior Ministry said. Saad Bin Marzooq Al-Subaie killed Hamad Bin Mohammed Al-Subaie by running him over with his car following a dispute, said the ministry in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency. — Okaz/Saudi Gazette
