Inter Milan spurned a chance to go top of Serie A for a second week running after a pulsating 1-1 draw at Palermo Saturday left it just short of leader Fiorentina. The result left Inter second on 18 points, only trailing Fiorentina on goal difference. Inter began the season with five straight wins, but its latest draw means it has only taken three points from its last four games. The visitors broke the deadlock with a rapid counter-attack on the hour which culminated with a deft finish from Ivan Perisic at the far post. Veteran Italy international Alberto Gilardino didn't know much about his equalizer six minutes later, sticking out a shin as the ball arrived at speed through a forest of legs. But he poked the ball home from close range via a touch from Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic's outstretched hand. Palermo then defended in numbers even after the late dismissal of Inter defender Jeison Murillo and the Nerazzurri have now failed to win in Palermo since 2010. Elsewhere, first ever Serie A goals either side of half time from Rade Krunic and Piotr Zielinski lifted Empoli away from the drop zone with a much needed 2-0 victory over Genoa. Bologna climbed off the bottom when they came from behind against 10-man Carpi to clinch a 2-1 win. Gameiro scores a hat trick Kevin Gameiro scored a hat trick in Sevilla's 5-0 win over 10-man Getafe, while Granada drew 1-1 with Real Betis to stay in the relegation zone in the Spanish football league. In Seville, Gameiro struck twice in the 35th and 45th before adding a penalty when Getafe's Carlos Vigarary was sent off after Ever Banega had made it 3-0 for Sevilla from another spot kick. Yevhen Konoplyanka scored a third penalty for Sevilla's fifth goal late. Granada's Dimitri Foulquier stole the ball and scored in the sixth, only for teammate Ruben Perez to commit a clumsy handball and let Ruben Castro convert a spot kick for Betis in the 40th. Ajaccio stuns Nice Gazelec Ajaccio recorded the club's first ever victory in France's top flight Saturday as it stunned in-form Nice 3-1 in Corsica. Goal-line technology was used to award a goal in Ligue 1 for the first time as Kamil Grosicki scored for Rennes against Lorient in a 1-1 draw. Angers stayed second following a 0-0 draw at home to Guingamp.
