Ilyas, Waheed and Gullu shine in SCC T20

JEDDAH — Amir Sajjad and Imran Gullu excelled as Al-Saudi-XI, AOT and Hyderabad Strikers won their respective matches in the SCC Premier Cup sponsored by Saudi Cricket Centre and organized by WPCA.
Hyderabad Strikers beat MCC by 41 runs. Hyderabad Strikers, opting to bat first, piled up 166 for 5. Amir Sajjad (56) and Jaweed Ahmed (50) hit fifties as the two added 90 for the 2nd wicket. Anwaar added 18 and Abdul Quddus remained unbeaten on 23. Mehfooz claimed 3-25 and Ramazan 2-31. MCC was never in the hunt as it lost wickets at regular intervals to be bowled out for 125. Shakeel fought hard with 45 and Ramazan 22. Amir Sajjad exhibiting fine all-round performance took 4-22. He was supported by Muzammil (2-27) and Ilyas (2-31).
AOT thrashed Jeddah Youth by 7 wickets. Jeddah Youth was restricted to 127 for 8. Mustafa hit a quick-fire 34 and skipper Anas Malik 27. Imran Yusuf alias Gullu bowled menacingly to claim 5-25, Qaiser Latif 1-12 and Faisal 1-41. Maqsood claimed 3 victims behind the stumps. AOT reached 131 for 3 in 85 balls. Ilyas Lashi top scored with an unbeaten 57 and Qaiser Latif remained unbeaten on 26. Maqsood contributed 18. Aftab Malik scalped 2-28 and Abid 1-29.
Al-Saudi-XI trounced Friends-XI by 5 wickets. Friends-XI produced 191 for 4 as Hassaan Malik made 55 and Abdullah Essa 71 in 48 balls as the two added 86. Niaz Ahmed remained unbeaten on 43 and Nasir unbeaten on 15. Nadeem Saad and Fuawad took 1 wicket each. Al-Saudi was home (192) for the loss of 5 wickets. Humayun slammed 59, Sajid remained unbeaten on 62, Zeeshan Suherwardi 26 and Nazeer Farooqi 16. Umair took 2-43, while a scalp each went to Nasir, Hamdan Malik and Wajahat.
SCC Afternoon T20
AMI Juffali got the better of Thales Group by 7 wickets. Thales Group was restricted to 120-7. Abdul Basit hit 56. Rafi Gujjar grabbed 2-15 and Usman Gafoor 2-32. AMI Juffali reached 124 for 3 in 79 balls as Imad compiled 42 and Rafi Gujjar remained unbeaten on 36. Usman Gafoor was 20 not out.
Zultrack had the last laugh against Waqas Malik-XI by 5 wickets. Waqas-XI managed to score 168-8 despite a disastrous start of 26-5. Tauseef hammered an unbeaten 76 as he added 85 with Tariq (45). The wrecker-in-chief was Abdul Waheed (5-27) and Amjad claimed 2-36. Zultrack reached 171 for 5 in 106 balls. Moshin blasted 65 in 36 balls, while Khadim hit 36 as the duo added 81 for the 3rd wicket. Qayam Khan contributed 24. Zahoor scalped 2-36.
Azizya Elegant crushed OMD Tuskers by 7 wickets. OMD Tuskers posted 147-5 thanks to a scintillating innings of 80 in 49 balls (9 fours and a six) by Khadiri and Mahesh made 27. Abdullah took 2-21. Azizyah Elegant won the match by 7 wickets. Ilyas blasted 100 off 56 balls (7 sixes and 4 fours) as he added 108 in 65 balls for the second wicket with Raja Atif (35) to score 149-3 in 93 balls.
APF trounced NAI Juffali by 39 runs. APF piled up 160-3 as Siddiq hit 73 not out and Ali Ansar 41. NAI Juffali was restricted to 121-9 with only Abid (23) and Afzal (16) among the runs. All-rounder Siddiq took 4-26.
