THE Authority for Accredited Valuers (Taqeem) participated in the Al Sharqiya Exhibition for real-estate, housing and constructional development (Restatex Al-Sharqiya 2015), which was held in Al Zahran International Center for Exhibitions and Conferences, under the aegis of Eastern Province Governor Prince Saud Bin Naif during Oct. 26-29. The exhibition was organized by the commercial and industrial chamber in the province. The Authority is seeking — through its own pavilion at the exhibition — to identify itself and its main objectives with the hope of achieving them, through number of meetings and participating in the exhibition workshops, along with pamphlets and brochures that were distributed to visitors. The Authority also provided a detailed explanation about the importance of certified real-estate valuation, and its role in maintaining rights of the sector workers and their investments, with regard to the fact that valuation is one of the most important elements of maintenance the public money assets. As well as defined what "the Authority" has accomplished in the last period to establish its principles and goals in the community. The participation of the Authority in the exhibition was an important step in order to manifest its services that are provided to the dealers in real-estate sector. It worth mentioning that the Authority was established to raise the profession of ‘'real-estate valuation'' in the Kingdom, and develop it by scientific methods, in order to maintain savings and assets of public money. The Authority puts a number of objectives and tasks, and spares no efforts to achieve them. The most important of which are; the preparation, development and adoption of unified standards of all valuation branches, standards for each branch, develop the necessary general rules for the exam to get a fellowship certificate for each valuation branch, regulation and supervision of continuing professional education courses to develop the Valuers' performance level and participating in local and international committees related to the valuation profession. As well as development of appropriate procedures for process supervision, to make sure that the authorized Valuer is applying the valuation criteria. The Authority for Accredited Valuers considers the valuation profession a promising profession, which will contribute in creating many special career opportunities. The Authority aimed at developing the valuation profession to the level of a prestigious profession such as medicine, engineering...etc. by setting the necessary standards for the valuation of real estate, economic entities, equipment, and movable property and so on, while raising the level of valuation employees professionally, technically and morally. It would also help in the qualification of young cadres by specialized educational programs, and adopting qualified Valuers to practice the profession in all valuation branches.
