Hanco Maintenance, JDC Yellow, Friendster emerge champions

Hanco Maintenance defeated Al-Mustaqbal Hospital 75-56 for the Inter-Company Division championship trophy of the Titan-JBL Basketball Championship at the Bin Mahfouz basketball court here.
Hanco Maintenance coach Jess Manlapaz was eager to close the series in Game 2. Coronado led the winner with 15 points and was adjudged as the Titan best player of the game. Bertolano topscored with 27 points for the loser.
This tournament is principally sponsored by Ttitan–Al Hussaini & Yahya Investment Group with co-sponsors Giordano Fashions, ABS-CBN-The Filipino Channel, Nesma Holdings, Al-Haddaf Sports Wear and Wael Sports Wear.
Friendster beat Paninos 85-83 for the crown of the Inter-Commercial 38 and above division. The winner found a new solid scorer in Jameel Cobre who was seldom used. He lifted Friendster with his shooting in the final quarter. Cobre and Amang Catador scored 16 points apiece. Cobre was adjudged as Giordano best player of the game. Norman Huerto Manansala had 37 points for the loser.
White defeated Red 58-57. White playing coach Ustad Ali Lumanog escape from his defense and made the winning basket. Abdulrhaman led White with 20 points and was adjudged as the Nesma best player of the game. Waleed (28) was the main contributor for Red.
JDC Yellow beat Green 90-86 in double overtime to claim the Jeddah Dawa'h Center Inter-Color Division. Jameel Lumanog and Mohammed Enriquez scored 26 points apiece for Yellow. Faizal EJ Suyat was adjudged as the Nesma best player of the game with his crucial two free throws that gave the Yellow team the championship trophy.
JBL President Mohammad Rasheed Suyat and Commissioner Joe dela Cerna led the awarding ceremony. Special guest Ustad Ahmed Peradilla from Jeddah Dawa'h Center handed over the trophies and Giordano gifts to the winners.
The awardees in the Inter-Company Bona Fide Division: Hanco Maintenance (champion), Al Mustaqbal Hospital (1st runner-up), Al-Saad Construction (2nd runner-up), NCB Auto Lease (3rd runner-up). The elite mythical five best players: Geniza (NCB), Padiila (Al-Saad), Amor (Hanco Maintenance), Bertolano (Al-Mustaqbal) and Coronado (Hanco Maintrenance). Jess Manlapaz (Hanco Maintenance, best coach) and Edgar Ainza (Hanco Maintenance, best manager). Special award for the most senior player was given to Zahir Asuncion of Hanco Maintenance who scored 27 points in the tournament. Amor was adjudged as the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Inter-Commercial 38 & above division: Friendster (champion), Paninos (1st runner-up), Solid North (2nd runner-up), Star Market (3rd runner-up). The elite mythical five: Dagohoy (Star Market), Pablo Viscayno (Solid North), Norman Huerto (Paninos), Jameel Cobre (Friendster) and Robert Lacsinto (Friendster). Valle (Friendster, best coach, Chris Melebo (Friendster, best manager). Most Valuable Player (MVP) – Jameel Cobre.
JDC Inter-Color Division: Yellow (champion), Green (1st runner-up), White (2nd runner-up), Red (3rd runner-up).
