News sources have reported that Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi will be receiving two million US dollars to star in the new television drama “Mawlid Sahbo Ghayeb”, which will mark her first television appearance. The show is scheduled to be aired during the Ramadan season of 2012. Haifa has decided to dedicate her time completely to filming her scenes for the drama. She stated that she will not hold any live performances throughout the entire time she is filming the drama, which will last for six months. The story of the drama revolves around a girl in a poor neighborhood who works as a dancer in a religious band. Egyptian belly dancer/actress Fifi Abdo denied rumors that she will star in the drama alongside Haifa. She refused to star in the drama after realizing she was to play the role of Haifa's mother, a matter she strongly refused because it makes her seem so much older than Haifa and the latter will steal the spotlight.
