Students from the fire-hit Bara'em Al-Watan School will be able to attend classes at private and government institutions close to their burnt-out school, said Abdullah Al-Thaqafi, Director of the Education Administration in Jeddah. A tripartite committee consisting of Education Affairs, Private Education and Student Affairs has been assigned to handle the transfer of students, added Al-Thaqafi. This will only be done with the permission of the parents and guardians of the students. He pointed out that students who were not injured in the fire are scheduled to attend classes next week. He said the Bara'em Al-Watan students will only be able to return to their school after the investigation and maintenance work are completed. Al-Thaqafi said a team of counselors from the Guidance Department and other organizations will provide counseling for students and their parents. The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported that Dr. Sami Badawood, Director of the Health Affairs Directorate in Jeddah, has assigned a team of social workers and counselors to treat students and teachers affected by the disaster. He said the team has started visiting the affected teachers and students admitted to King Fahd Hospital and Jadani Hospital in Jeddah. __
