ACTOR and director Kassem Istanbuli is preparing to go on a tour around Europe to show his play “Koum Yaba” in Madrid and Paris. The tour is done to support the Palestinian Cause, the Al Aqsa Mosque, and the rights of the Palestinian people, who are suffering from Israeli occupation. The play is a monodrama that talks about the suffering of the Palestinian people from before 1948 until this present day. The story is written by Palestinian author Salman Al Natour. Kassem had begun showing the play in the streets of Beirut after the Israeli attacks on Gaza. The play was also shown in public squares, in front of the American embassy in Lebanon, Palestinian refugee camps and universities in Lebanon and Syria. The play was also shown in 2008 in a festival that supported Gaza as well as in 2010 during the Earth Day festival. Kassem considers the play as very crucial in stressing the importance of the Palestinian Cause to the West.
