Gomez fires Bayern 4 points clear

Bundesliga top scorer Mario Gomez scored twice as Bayern Munich crushed Bavarian rivals Nuremberg 4-0 to open a four-point lead at the top of the table on Saturday.
Dutch striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar also grabbed two goals, one a penalty, to lead Schalke 04 to a 3-1 win over Hoffenheim that took them up to second.
Champions Borussia Dortmund dropped to third with 20 points from 11 games, five points behind Bayern, after drawing 1-1 at VfB Stuttgart. Werder Bremen is fourth on 20 points after coming from a goal down to triumph 3-1 at Mainz 05, its first victory in four games.
Borussia Moenchengladbach moved up to fifth, also on 20 points, after Marco Reus struck twice to earn a 2-1 victory over Hanover. Hertha Berlin stunned VfL Wolfsburg 3-2.
PSG beats Caen
Paris Saint-Germain beat Caen 4-2 Saturday to keep a three-point lead over Montpellier in the French league.
Montpellier beat Nancy 2-0 with second-half goals from Olivier Giroud and Souleymane Camara.
Also Saturday, it was: Brest 3, Lorient 1; Evian 3, Auxerre 1; Dijon 2, Marseille 3; Ajaccio 0, Bordeaux 2.
Milan goes top
Champions AC Milan climbed to the top of Serie A Saturday after Zlatan Ibrahimovic struck twice in a 3-2 win at Roma.
Elsewhere, 10-man Napoli was beaten 2-1 at Catania with goals from Giovanni Marchese and Gonzalo Bergessio helping the hosts to a comeback win after Edinson Cavani's first-minute strike.
Victory lifted Catania to sixth, level on points with fifth-placed Napoli, ahead of Serie A's main program.
Ballack breaks nose in win
Bayer Leverkusen says Michael Ballack broke his nose in the 1-0 win at Freiburg in the Bundesliga.
Leverkusen confirmed the injury on its website Saturday, after the former Germany captain underwent a checkup at a Freiburg clinic Friday night after the match.
The Bundesliga side said a decision on whether Ballack will play at Valencia in the Champions League Tuesday won't be made until shortly before the game.
