The traffic authority here will protect Saher employees from attacks, said Brig. Abdul Rahman Al-Miqbil, Director of the Riyadh Traffic Department. Al-Miqbil added that the traffic department will not install Saher cameras on top of its patrol vehicles, reported Al-Watan Arabic daily, Monday. He slammed those who attacked Saher employees recently. “The murder of a Saher employee was horrendous. It's important that this does not happen again. Those responsible won't go unpunished. Saher has contributed to reducing the number of traffic accidents in cities and on highways.” Al-Miqbil was surprised at the attacks. Many people do not get Saher tickets because they drive wisely and responsibly, Al-Miqbil added. “I want to pose this question: Have you noticed that people drive more responsibly now and that the number of deaths has decreased? Why are you pessimistic about Saher when in fact it has contributed to protecting you and your children?” Saleh Kamel, President of Dallat Al-Barakah Group, who is a Saher contractor, criticized the attackers. “No one has asked anyone to drive recklessly.” Kamel said he was also surprised by the attacks on Saher vehicles and employees when the system is protecting and saving lives. “It's simple. Don't violate Saher rules and you won't be fined. Don't drive recklessly and don't speed.” Kamel said parents should thank Allah rather than get angry if their sons and drivers get fines. This is because Saher is warning them about the recklessness of their sons and drivers behind the wheel. Kamel rejected news reports that he owned Saher. “I'm only one of the contractors responsible for the Western Region. There are contractors for the Central Region and Eastern Province. Saher is a government system run by the government.”
