The attack carried out by a group of gangsters of the Syrian regime against the Saudi Embassy in Damascus and the chaos which they created in the embassy is not strange as it comes from a regime that has been using violent terrorism against it own people. The Syrian regime is politically bankrupt as is demonstrated by the fact that it is fighting against its own people. It possesses only the weapon of terrorism to silence its people who have been living under oppressive dictatorships for more than four decades. Terrorism is the last remaining card in the hand of Damascus after everything else has failed. The Syrian people are being brutally punished for organizing and participating in peaceful demonstrations in order to liberate themselves from the prison in which the Syrian regime has confined them for decades. It never entered the minds of the dictators of the regime that the Syrian people would revolt against the dictatorship and tyranny under which they have been living for decades. The regime could not believe that the people would rise up and fight for their dignity which has been long disregarded. It is not at all surprising that the regime of gangsters would ignore international diplomatic norms and conventions by attacking foreign embassies. What after all can be expected from a regime that engages in the killing of women, children, and the elderly in cold blood? Nothing will deter those who do not know the meaning of justice and who ignore the reasons why the Syrian people are desperately trying to regain their freedom and dignity. What can we expect from a regime that has lied to the Arab League by falsely announcing its intention to implement the decisions made by that organization? The Syrian regime has not only lied to the Arab League, but to the entire international community by killing innocent people randomly and claiming that it is fighting against armed gangs. __
