The Traffic Command in Muzdalifa has deployed over 1,700 traffic policemen and 60 officers to facilitate the movement of pilgrims to Arafat, then to Muzdalifa for the night and later to Mina for the rest of the Haj rituals. Brigadier Muhammad Hassan Al-Qahtani, Traffic Commander in Muzdalifa, said the traffic plan will see pilgrims move from Mina to Arafat via Muzdalifa on roads One, Four and Six, which run from west to east. Pilgrims will also move along King Fahd Road from the west to King Faisal Flyover to the south; and along roads Five and Seven which are for the traffic from the east and heading to King Faisal Flyover. When pilgrims leave Arafat for Muzdalifa, the vehicles will move along roads Three to Seven from east to west. The traffic on King Faisal Flyover will be free in the north and west. He said pilgrims who want to go on foot from Arafat to Muzdalifa should use the pedestrian road which is six kilometers long and has water, toilets, rest houses and health centers. Brigadier Al-Qahtani said Road Three is only used to cross over into King Abdul Aziz Road and Al-Azizyia Road and has no parking lots. Brigadier Saad Bin Hassan Al-Jabri, Commander of Arafat Traffic, said the traffic command was ready to receive pilgrims on Arafat Standing Day. The traffic plan was put in place on the first day of Dhul Hijjah.
