Prince Sultan was a noble brother and friend — Naif
Published in The Saudi Gazette on 27 - 10 - 2011

The late Crown Prince Sultan was a noble brother and friend, Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior, has said.
This came in remarks to Saudi Television at Riyadh Airbase Reception Hall. Prince Naif said that Prince Sultan was also a great leader and the best reference in matters of state.
“Prince Sultan used to say ‘yes' for what is right, and ‘no' for what is wrong. Although Prince Sultan was an elder brother, he used to treat us as friends. Prince Sultan used to encourage us to express ourselves and to voice our points of view,” Prince Naif said.
“What was more important was his devoted loyalty to King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Prince Sultan gave first priority to the Royal directives, implementing all orders issued by the King in right earnest,” Prince Naif added.
“Emanating from our keenness on the health of King Abdullah, we appealed to him not to go to the airport nor attend the funeral prayers. However, his love for Prince Sultan was the main motivation for him to overcome the situation,” Prince Naif said.
Prince Turki Bin Sultan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Information for Media Affairs, said Crown Prince Sultan had great achievements and tremendously contributed to maintain Muslim solidarity. “He always helped the people in need and supported charitable and social activities and organizations,” Prince Turki said.
Meanwhile, officials of centers and Islamic societies in Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands have offered condolences to King Abdullah and to the people and government of the Kingdom on the death of Crown Prince Sultan.
This came in the messages received by the Saudi Ambassador to Australia and New Zealand Hassan Bin Talat Nazer.
Ambassador Nazer said that the heads and officials of the centers, associations, and Islamic schools in Australia, New Zealand and the neighboring islands hailed the Crown Prince's initiatives and service to Islam, and his care for the affairs of Muslims in all parts of the world.
Irreparable loss: Zardari
Asif Ali Zardari, President of Pakistan, said that people of Pakistan are saddened over the death of Crown Prince Sultan. “This is an irreparable loss and we equally share this grief with our Saudi brothers and Saudi leadership,” he said.
President Zardari said the world has lost a great leader, who worked tirelessly for humanitarian and social work. He said Crown Prince Sultan was widely known and respected in Pakistan for his charity and humanitarian works.
