Ban on the use of liquefied gas for cooking purposes in the holy sites during the Haj season would continue. Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Supreme Haj Committee, has issued a decision to that affect, Lt. Gen. Saad Bin Abdullah Al-Twaijri, Director General of Civil Defense, said. The continuation of the ban has come due to the Civil Defense noticing its positive effects throughout the past years, he said. Lt. Gen. Al-Twaijri said there is coordination with all the security authorities to prevent the entry of liquefied gas in the holy sites. He added that Civil Defense safety teams would carry out inspection tours in the camps to ensure that they do not contain gas cylinders and gas cookers. Violators will be punished and banned articles confiscated, he said adding that the ban applies to all buildings and camps of government authorities in the holy sites without exception.
