Two Korean Navy cruises docked at Jeddah Islamic Port Sunday to conduct three-day joint exercises with the Saudi Navy. This is the seventh time the Republic of Korea Navy Cruise Training Task Group is visiting the Kingdom since 1977. “The ROK Navy Cruise training task group has come to spread universal humanity, peace and harmony. I am looking forward to enhance our friendship and having an opportunity to promote mutual understanding between between our countries,” said RADM(L) Choi, Yang Sun, commander of the Korean navy group. The two naval ships, ROKS Kang GamChan (Destroyer, 4,400T) and ROKS Chunji (Fast Cobat Support Ship, 4, 200t), will tour around the world in 95 days and stop at 10 ports, including Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Turkey, Italy, France, Greece, India, Malaysia, and Japan. The training aims at providing practical and systematic onboard education for the midshipmen while widening their international prospective. The group will leave Jeddah Islamic Port on Tuesday and head toward Istanbul, Turkey. __
