The Commercial Fraud Committee of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has discovered products at four factories and stores in violation of trademark laws and the ministry's standards and specifications. The Judicial Circuits of the Bureau of Grievances has fined the violators. A factory producing counterfeit car oil and radiator fluid was fined SR50,000. A store selling expired tires was fined SR60,000 while one selling expired cosmetic products was fined SR100,000. Another store selling fake electrical appliances was fined SR80,000. The ministry urged the holders of properly-registered trademarks to protect their rights granted under the Law of Commercial Trademarks by reporting any violation through the toll-free number 8001241616 or at one of the ministry's branch offices, so that action can be taken against violators.
