Prince Nawaf Bin Faisal Bin Fahd, President of the General Presidency of Youth Welfare (GPYW) and Head of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation (SAFF), announced Friday an award of SR1 million to Al-Ittihad Club, as an incentive for reaching the semifinals of the Asian Champions League. The cash incentive was announced during a reception held at the Jeddah's InterContinental Hotel, where the General President lauded the Ittihad administration, technical team and players for their Asian achievement. Prince Nawaf hoped that Ittihad would crown its hard work with the continental title. He expressed his full confidence in Ittihad players to beat Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors of South Korea in the semifinals. He also declared that Ittihad would receive another prize money of SR4.3 million in case the team won the competition. Prince Nawaf also assured that with Ittihad reaching advanced stages in the Asian championship, the domestic matches of the team will be rescheduled. “This is a technical support we should provide to the representative of the country,” he said. Major General Mohammed Bin Dakhil Al-Juhani, President of Ittihad, thanked Prince Nawaf for his support. “It's no wonder that Prince Nawaf back us. He's known for his unlimited support to all Saudi teams,” Al-Juhani said. He added that the financial assistance would increase their sense of responsibility. __
