Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah region and Chairman of the Charitable Society for Marriage and Family Guidance, is scheduled to patronize a mass wedding on Wednesday for 1,000 young men and women. The ceremony at the Jeddah Center for Forums and Events will be the third mass wedding in the Makkah region and the second one this year. Sheikh Abdullah Al-Othaim, Director of the Society, expressed gratitude for Prince Khaled's support for mass weddings. The Society organized the second mass wedding this year in response to the number of applications it received, said Sheikh Abdul Muhsin Bin Abdullah Al-Khayyal, President of the Appeals Court in Makkah. Many single men and women are enthusiastic about making use of such initiatives because they facilitate marital matters and keep expenses low, he added. At the beginning of the summer, the Charitable Society for Marriage and Family Guidance in Jeddah celebrated the marriage of 1,200 young men and women. That event brought the number of people benefiting from mass weddings to 5,980. __
