Twelve German companies specializing in the field of smelter and roller plants technology are visiting smelter plants here in Eastern Province on Oct. 2-3 to seek collaboration and offer their expertise. The delegation is scheduled to visit Ras Al-Khair Mineral Industrial City where Saudi Arabia's first ever aluminum smelter complex is being developed by the Saudi Arabian Mining Company Ma'aden. The smelter complex includes an alumina refinery and a rolling mill. The smelter complex has total investment of $4 billion and will be producing annually 740,000 ton of aluminum by 2013. Jubail Industrial City 2, now currently under development, will devote four industrial blocs for aluminum and other smelting plants. The German companies are interested in providing their expertise to these projects. Members of the delegation will also meet Saudi business leaders in Eastern Province at the Asharqia Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Oct. 3 during a B2B (business to business) forum. The meeting is expected to open business opportunities for both Saudi and the German sides to start new bilateral business relationships in the field of smelter and roller plants technology. The delegation is organized by the German Industry & Commerce for Saudi Arabia (AHK Saudi) under the auspices of the German-Saudi Arabian Liaison Office for Economic Affairs (GESALO) and in cooperation with the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). AHK Saudi Arabia is now the official representative of German economy in Saudi Arabia. __
