Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, launched Friday the National Day celebrations in the historical area in downtown Jeddah. “On this joyful day, I announce the launch of the scouts' project, the Camp of Peace Messengers, in this historical area where King Abdul Aziz, the founder of the Kingdom, unified the whole country. We feel happy to commemorate this event and to live in this secure, stable and peaceful country.” The project seeks to instill the values of scouts in the minds of the youth and makes their role more influential in society, Prince Faisal said. It also seeks to prepare 20 million scouts around the world to spread peace. It was adopted by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, following the success of the program of the Peace Gift in which millions of scouts all over the world participated, Prince Faisal added. Dr. Abdullah Al-Fahd, Deputy Chairman of Saudi Arabian Scouts Association, said the project was launched three years ago and the number of its members has been increasing ever since. __
