Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA), urged Saudi youths to exert more effort and persevere in pursuing education. Those efforts will contribute directly to their making great improvements in the education sector and becoming effective members of society, which seeks to make its members acquire high levels of knowledge, he said at the launch of the scientific cooperation project between King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST) and the Ministry of Education. “The Saudi youth are the real fortune and bright future of the Kingdom,” Prince Sultan said. The project aims to provide Saudi youths with opportunities to conduct research and participate in scientific experiments conducted at the International Space Station. Prince Sultan, who stressed the projects' importance, said it “seeks to expose Saudi students to the field of space, which is one of the most prominent scientific fields and strategic technologies in the world. Students will have a chance to experience the atmosphere of scientific experience and bring out their creativity.” Prince Sultan congratulated KACST and the Ministry of Education for their successful cooperative projects and scientific programs. “These ambitious programs will definitely contribute to create an excellent atmosphere of education, science and knowledge that focus on creativity and innovation, and sponsor talented students so they become excellent researchers,” he said. “Sustainable development is our number-one goal.” Prince Sultan said that on the regional level, the Kingdom is at the forefront of space science. Work is being done to develop the space industry in the Kingdom within the comprehensive national plan for science, technology and innovation, he added.
