The Ministry of Education will not accept any request for transfer from teachers who remained absent since the start of the new academic year. The ministry said the ban applies to the teachers who were absent for more than ten days without a valid reason and whose work performance in the current year is less than 70 marks or its equivalent for lab technicians. The ban also covers teachers completing their higher studies, those seconded from outside the ministry until their secondment period was over and those enjoying extraordinary vacations. The ministry is expected to issue a list of 52 teachers and administrators whose salaries would be deducted for remaining absent from work last week without an official reason. __
