The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) said it will intensify its inspection tours of government administrations on the last working day before the Eid Al-Fitr holiday to detect absenteeism and determine the employees' degree of seriousness. The Ministry of Civil Service has said that as per a Royal Order, the Eid Al-Fitr holiday would begin Thursday, Aug. 25 (Ramadan 25, according to the Umm Al-Qura calendar) and continue until Saturday, Sept. 3 (Shawwal 5). On Aug. 24, the eve of the holiday, the CIB will also monitor when government employees report to work and when they leave, according to an official source. Committees will also begin working on Wednesday morning to prepare lists of absent employees and refer them to official bodies to take measures against them, according to the regulations on absenteeism and salary deductions, the source said. If employees are absent on the last day of work before the Eid Al-Fitr or Eid Al-Adha holiday, it will be counted as one day of absence. If an employee is absent on the first day after either of the two holidays, it will be counted as two days of absence, the source added. __
