Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, speaks at the annual meeting of radio broadcasters. — SPA JEDDAH – Dr. Abdul Aziz Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, sponsored Wednesday the second annual meeting for radio broadcasters at Jeddah Intercontinental Hotel. During the ceremony, Ibrahim Al-Saqoob, Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Culture and Information, welcomed the gathering and thanked the minister for sponsoring the event. He also talked about the implementation of development projects that added a variety of cultural segments to radio programs. The minister, in his speech, expressed his joy to meet the radio staff of Jeddah and Riyadh during Ramadan and talked about the cultural and educational role of radio. “Radio discovered talented broadcasters and introduced them to thousand of listeners. We all remember how radio opened means of social communication with the audience even before satellite TV channels came into existence. This means that radio can survive in the era of satellite TV channels.” The audience were shown a presentation about the evolution of the Saudi radio station through its different development stages. __
