The Kingdom is witnessing comprehensive progress in all fields, Dr. Abdul Aziz Al-Khoja, Minister of Culture and Information, said here on Saturday. Inaugurating a workshop titled “Modern methods in radio news” organized by the department of news and political programs of Radio Riyadh. Dr. Al-Khoja said, “We feel proud that the global economic crisis has not stopped the march of development in the Kingdom, thanks to the wisdom of the nation's leadership.” Dr. Al-Khoja said he was honored by the confidence shown in him by King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, when he was asked to take over the ministry. He said he was fully aware that the ministry required efforts in all sectors to be added to the work of his predecessors. He noted that these additions are dictated by the nature of renewable information and the challenges of media. Dr. Al-Khoja pointed out that human elements are the key to success and the Ministry of Culture and Information is staffed by excellent and highly experience personnel. Dr. Al-Khoja added that King Abdullah's call for dialogue between monotheistic religions has become the focus of the world media, which sees it as a safe alternative to the conflict of human civilizations and its consequences of destruction inflicted upon communities and contemporary society. Commenting on the workshop, he said, it has come in the light of new advances in media and stressed that those involved in such work should keep abreast of new developments, wishing the workshop and trainees all success. Ibrahim Al-Saqoob, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Ministry of Culture and Information for broadcasting affairs, pointed out that investment in the development of human resources through training and workshops is the key for the change cherished by the ministry.
