Saudi Credit Bureau (SIMAH) is the sole licensed national credit bureau offering consumer and commercial credit information services to respective members in Saudi Arabia. SIMAH operates under the supervision of Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA). Why are these types of information needed? The basic personal profile data is primarily meant for making sure that when members contribute data or make an enquiry, the correct data is updated or given to the member who is enquiring. Members also use it to conduct data verification in their creditworthiness assessment process. The rest of the information in the credit report is primarily used for creditworthiness assessment purposes, (e.g., for observing repayment trends). Will SIMAH provide information to members who are outside Saudi Arabia? SIMAH provides only members in Saudi Arabia. Will SIMAH write a recommendation in my credit to encourage my lender to extend a loan? The credit report only shows the factual credit data available. It does not give any opinions on whether credit should or should not be granted. A defaulter could be granted and a non-defaulter could be rejected. All decisions of this nature are made the lender/borrower. This is a commercial decision by the credit provider, and may depend on a variety of factors. SIMAH does not determine when an account is classified as default, and merely reflects this information after the member has classified it as such. What types of information are not included in the credit report? The credit report does not contain: 1 - Amount(s) deposited with the bank 2 - Value of asset(s) mortgaged 3 - Net worth of the individual 4 - Investment(s) made through the member Can individuals join SIMAH? If not, then, what are the entities that could join SIMAH? Individuals cannot join SIMAH. Financing and credit entities eitherin the private or public sectors may join SIMAH and utilize its products and services. __
