Barcelona's latest attempt to lure Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas to the Nou Camp has been rejected by the London club, reports suggested here Friday. According to Sky Sports, Arsenal is standing firm on the £40 million (45 million euro) price tag it has placed on the Spanish midfielder. European champion Barcelona had already failed with an offer of around £30 million, and an improved reported bid of 29 million euros plus six million euros in future add-ons has also failed to tempt the Gunners. Fabregas, which is keen to move, has reportedly pledged three million euros of his own money to help secure the deal. But the overall package - worth 38million euros - is still some seven million euros short of what the Premier League club is demanding. Aguero set for City debut Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini said Sergio Aguero is likely to make his first appearance for the club in the Community Shield against Manchester United at Wembley Sunday. Aguero has yet to play for his new club since completing a $62 million move from Atletico Madrid last week. But Mancini said the Argentina international forward, who suffered an injury scare in his first training session with his new club, will be on the substitutes' bench. “Sergio is ok. He had a problem, but Thursday he did 20 minutes training,” Mancini told reporters at City's training ground Friday. “But today he will train and he will be available for the bench. I don't think he's 100 percent ready but he's fit to be on the bench.” Aguero's compatriot Carlos Tevez will not feature in the Community Shield, the traditional curtain-raiser to the English season between last term's Premier League champion (United) and the FA Cup winner (City). Asked whether Tevez will play for City again, Mancini said: “He is a City player. At the moment we don't have any news about other things and Carlos will play for Manchester City. “Carlos is a professional player and if he doesn't find another team in a few weeks then he will play for us,” the Italian added. “If he stays here I will be happy.”
