Sevilla claimed its second King's Cup triumph in four years when Diego Capel's early strike and a late breakaway goal from Jesus Navas fired it to a 2-0 win over Atletico Madrid Wednesday. In a bad-tempered match at a rowdy Nou Camp stadium in Barcelona, winger Capel pounced on a loose ball on the edge of the penalty area in the fifth minute and smashed a left-foot shot past David De Gea. Atletico forwards Diego Forlan and Sergio Aguero went close to equalizing before Navas skipped past several lunging tackles, took the ball round De Gea and finished into the empty net in the 91st minute. It was a fifth domestic cup win for the Andalucian club and ended its season on a high after it finished fourth in La Liga and qualified for the Champions League. Atletico, which has won the cup nine times, was denied a second trophy of the campaign after last week's 2-1 victory over Fulham in the Europa League final. On a balmy evening in the Catalan capital, the match kicked off after enthusiastic singing along to the wordless Spanish national anthem, in contrast to last year's final between Barcelona and Athletic Bilbao when the anthem was roundly booed. Many Sevilla fans were sporting sombreros in homage to club president Jose Maria del Nido and vast swathes of the giant arena were decorated in the red and white of Atletico. The match boiled over with around 20 minutes left when a crunching tackle by Luis Perea on Capel prompted pushing and shoving between players and staff next to the technical areas. Atletico coach Quique Sanchez Flores and his Sevilla counterpart Antonio Alvarez had a heated exchange before the match officials restored calm. Atletico pressed forward desperately as the clock ticked down, leaving holes at the back that Navas was able to exploit to kill the game off. Barca signs Villa Barcelona has moved swiftly to reinforce its squad, snapping up Spain striker David Villa from Valencia for 40 million euros ($49.7 million) Wednesday, three days after winning a second consecutive La Liga title. After a Valencia board meeting, President Manuel Llorente said they had accepted Barca's offer for the prized striker, who scored 21 league goals last season to finish his fifth consecutive campaign as the club's top scorer. “There was a big offer from England that was not from Chelsea but Barcelona's was the best for us and the footballer,” Llorente told a news conference at the Mestalla, without specifying which Premier League club had made a bid. “Villa has delivered a lot (to Valencia) and he deserves this chance,” he added. The 28-year-old is Spain's second-highest scorer with 36 goals from 55 matches, eight short of the record held by Real Madrid striker Raul, and he will be spearheading Spain's World Cup campaign in South Africa next month. Barcelona confirmed the deal in a statement on their website (www.fcbarcelona.com), saying Villa would sign a four-year contract with an option for one more year. The player, who Barca said “guaranteed goals”, will travel to the Catalan capital Thursday and will take a medical before being presented Friday at 1130 GMT. Arsenal vows to keep Fabregas Arsenal Chairman Peter Hill-Wood has told Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas to forget about joining Barcelona during the close-season. Reports in England Wednesday claim Fabregas has told Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger that he wants to leave the Premier League club and return to Spanish champion Barca. Fabregas, who began his career in Barca's youth academy before joining Arsenal aged 16, is believed to have met with Wenger at Arsenal's training ground Tuesday to inform him of his desire to move to the Nou Camp.
