The holy month of Ramadan will begin Monday (Aug. 1), announced the Royal Court quoting the Supreme Court Saturday. The new lunar moon was not sighted at sunset Saturday evening, said a statement by the Royal Court quoting the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court congratulated King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques; Crown Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz, Deputy Premier, Minister of Defense and Aviation and Inspector General; Prince Naif Bin Abdul Aziz, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior; the Saudi government and people; the Muslim expatriates in the Kingdom; and the Muslim Ummah on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan. Ramadan will also begin Monday in Egypt, Kuwait, Qatar, Yemen and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
