The Council of Ministers has reorganized the status of Twafa establishments for their smooth functioning during the Haj and remove certain shortcomings, Dr. Fouad Abdulsalam Al-Farsy, Minister of Haj, said here Thursday. Dr. Al-Farsy said that the General Committee for the Council of Ministers has returned the reorganized system for Tawafa establishments to his ministry. The minister said nobody can claim to be perfect and in this regard his ministry has welcomes criticism on some of its works from members of the Shoura Council. “I am sure that one will not commit any mistake if he does not work. There would certainly been shortcoming which can always be rectified and improved upon after observations are made,” said Dr. Al-Farsy, who addressed a number of issues in a wide-ranging interview. Regarding the Ministry of Haj's involvement in appointing some deputy heads of Tawafa establishments in recent elections, Dr. Al-Farsy said, “The regulations grant the minister wide powers and during my work as minister for seven years now, I have come to know this aspect very well.” A project to form a coordination commission for domestic pilgrims companies is still being studied by the Experts Commission, he added. The minister's statements address concerns among Haj and Umrah authorities over the possibility of overlapping work of different authorities in allowing Tawafa establishments to work in the Umrah field and Umrah companies to work in the Haj field. The minister was categorical in denying any overlapping of work. Dr. Al-Farsy said that there is cooperation and an exchange of information and expertise with Tawafa establishments. The minister lauded the Saudi media for playing a pioneering, positive role in objectively and transparently acquainting the public with Haj-related activities. Newspapers have a right to criticize, but criticism should be healthy and based on facts, he said. __
