King Abdullah, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, has approved recommendations by Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Muhammad, Minister of Education, to relax a condition that female teacher candidates must provide details of their place of residence before they are employed. The relaxation of the law now allows them to be treated as equals with male candidates. The King's decision is based on a recommendation made by a committee consisting of the undersecretaries of the ministries of Interior, Education, and Civil Service, and including the Control and Investigation Board, after studying the proposal of the Minister of Education. The King's approval also requires the ministries of Education and Civil Service to undertake the necessary steps to implement this decision effective from the new fiscal year 2011/2012. Prince Faisal thanked King Abdullah for his support of education. He said the relaxation of the condition has become a pressing necessity especially after the Royal order which stipulates the opening of 52,000 job opportunities for women in the Ministry of Education. Meanwhile, King Abdullah received Friday Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Bin Isa Al-Khalifa.
