Atletico Madrid confirmed the sale of Argentina striker Sergio Aguero to Manchester City Thursday in a deal believed to be worth £38 million ($62 million). “Atletico Madrid and Manchester City have reached an agreement under which the English club has the rights to Sergio Leonel Aguero,” said a statement on the Atletico website although the club did not reveal the financial details. City announced that 23-year-old Aguero had signed a five-year-contract and that he is likely to be in the squad for this weekend's Dublin Super Cup tournament. He will wear the No. 16 shirt. Aguero himself had claimed Wednesday that he had completed his transfer to City. The player, who is the son-in-law of Argentina legend Diego Maradona, underwent a medical in Manchester Wednesday. He is seen as the answer to City's problems in attack, where Carlos Tevez has reiterated his desire to leave the club.
