Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed, Minister of Education and the President of the Saudi Scouts Association, is received in Stockholm, Wednesday by King Karl Gustav XVI and Queen Silvia of Sweden. — SPA STOCKHOLM – Prince Faisal Bin Abdullah Bin Mohammed, Minister of Education and the President of the Saudi Scouts Association, currently visiting Sweden to take part in the 22nd World Scout Jamboree, handed an invitation from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to King Karl Gustav XVI of Sweden on Wednesday inviting him to attend the opening ceremony of the second world peace camp to be hosted by Saudi Arabia next year, at King Abdullah University for Science and Technology (KAUST). Some 39,000 Scouts from 161 countries are currently in Sweden to take part in the jamboree which opened Wednesday and will run until Aug. 8. In late 2001, Scouts around the world were called on by King Abdullah (while he was then Crown Prince) to act as the “Messengers of Peace” in the world, building bridges between communities, between nations and between the faiths of the world. Saudi Ambassador to Sweden Dr. Abdulrahman Bin Mohammed Al-Jidaie said, Wednesday, that the “Peace Messengers” initiative launched by King Abdullah has contributed dramatically to enhancing humanitarian communication, developing societies, spreading an understanding spirit and tolerance and building bridges between the world's different cultures in a way that serves peace in the world and opens new horizons for human communities to interact with each other.
