British triathlete Harry Wiltshere has been banned for six months for deliberately obstructing world champion Javier Gomez at last month's European Championship. The International Triathlon Union says the 28-year-old Wiltshire was guilty of “unsafe and unsportsmanlike conduct” after he aggressively impeded Gomez on the swim leg of a race won by Wiltshire's British teammate, Alistair Brownlee. Wiltshere swam extremely close to Gomez and appeared to block the Spaniard by slowing on the swim exit.
