Former champion Ai Miyazato of Japan took a two-shot lead at the Evian Masters Saturday after shooting a a 5-under 67 in the third round. Miyazato made five birdies for a 13-under total of 203. She heads into Sunday's fourth round ahead of a group of four players, including Kraft Nabisco winner Stacy Lewis of the United States. Overnight leader Miki Saiki of Japan, Ran Hong of South Korea and Angela Stanford of the United States are also at 11-under. I.K. Kim of South Korea moved into contention after shooting up the leaderboard with a brilliant round of 64 to sit three shots behind. Noren extends lead Alexander Noren of Sweden shot a course record 9-under 63 Saturday to extend his lead to 11 shots after the third round of the Nordea Masters. American Bubba Watson shot a 69 to sit second, one stroke ahead of Christian Nilsson of Sweden and Jaco Van Zyl of South Africa. Thompson in lead Michael Thompson has his work cut out for him if he is to maintain his lofty perch atop the leaderboard at the $5.2 million Canadian Open. Thompson fired a second round four-under 66 Friday and is tied for the lead with fellow American Chad Campbell on the unforgiving Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club course. They are both at four-under 136. Campbell shot 67 and Thompson went one better later in the day, closing with a birdie on the tough 472-yard, par-four 18th. Americans Paul Goydos (69) and Lee Janzen (68) had a share of the lead but both made bogey on the final hole to finish at three-under 137. Charl Schwartzel (67), Australian Geoff Ogilvy (68), Rickie Fowler (69), Jerry Kelly (67), Canadians David Hearn (68) and Adam Hadwin (66), and first-round leader Kris Blanks (71) were at two under.
