Etihad Etisalat (Mobily) launched a high value promotional offer on Mobily's BlackBerry Internet Service. According to the terms of the promotion, all Mobily subscribers can sign up for SR50 and enjoy unlimited BlackBerry PIN messaging and one gigabyte per month of Internet. Customers can activate the service immediately by sending an SMS text message containing "Bis50" to 1100 or by calling up customer service on the same number. Then promotion extends the reach of BlackBerry service to Mobily's customer base - who are already served on a state of the art enhanced high speed packet access (HSPA+) network that reaches over 92 percent of all populated areas. Furthermore, Mobily customers holidaying abroad can roam with their BlackBerries without fear of high data charges by subscribing to Mobily's BlackBerry Roaming service. To subscribe, customers need only send an SMS text message with "BISR" to 1100 for an additional monthly charge of SR50. Meanwhile, all Mobily customers can also subscribe to the local BlackBerry service on a weekly basis for SR29 per week, and can enjoy 120 megabytes of Internet and unlimited BlackBerry PIN messaging. Meanwhile, Mobily said it renewed its management agreement with its founder, Emirates Telecommunications Corp. of the United Arab Emirates, also known as Etisalat. The agreement runs for five years and starts in December. Mobily's second quarter profits jumped 29 percent from the same period in 2010, boosted by increased data usage and smartphone sales. Mobily said last week net income climbed to SR1.164 billion ($310 million) versus SR901 million in the same quarter of 2010.
