Egyptian State Television decided to censor the series “Samara” from airing in Ramadan 2011 due to belly dancing scenes by actress Ghada Abdel Razek. “Al Ahram” newspaper reported that the Ramadan Television Projects' Committee allowed the series to air on its private channels, but the series' producer Hesham Shaaban refused. Hesham decided to broadcast it on the satellite channels which bought the series, including “Dubai” and “CBC” channels. This makes the task of promoting the series a very difficult one, particularly after campaigns have been launched on “Facebook” calling on the boycott of Ghada's project. Compiled by Saudi Gazette __
