The administrations of the television channels “El Nahar” and “El Hayat” refused to air the series “El Shawarea El Khalfiya” (Back Roads) on Egyptian TV. “Filfan.com” reports the president of Egyptian State Television, Hala Hashish, requested to air the series, but both channels refused because they signed on to air the series exclusively on an Egyptian channel. The Television Management hence decided to air the series on terrestrial channel “Al Thaniya”, but Hala Hashish refused this decision and is now searching for an alternative. “El Shawarea El Khalfiya” stars Egyptian actress Laila Elwi, Syrian actor Jamal Suleiman in addition to Jehan Fadel and Sami Al Adl. The script of the series was written by Dr Medhat Al Adl, and is derived from the novel by author Abdel Rahman Al Sharqawi which holds the same title. Compiled by Saudi Gazette __
