Syrian actress Sulaf Fawakherji has been cast to star in the new film “El Hawa”, filmed by Syrian director Waha Al Raheb. “MBC.net” quoted Al Raheb as saying Sulaf plays the role of Amal, a divorced woman exposed to social stigma. The Syrian director says the film sheds light on the life of divorced women and their struggle with it in the Eastern community. She noted that men perceive divorced woman as everyone's property. She explained she found all the qualities of her lead star in Sulaf, and immediately cast her for the role. The events of the film revolve around a divorced woman who lives with her child and works as a nurse at a public hospital. She later on gets involved in cases of corruption.
