The Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) has charged with negligence the sponsor of 23-year-old Elham, a Moroccan woman who claimed that she was hired to work as a receptionist at a beauty salon in Jeddah but found that after her arrival in the Kingdom in February attempts were being made to force her to work as a prostitute. The 40-year-old paralyzed sponsor was charged for selling visa and filing an escape application despite knowing Elham's whereabouts. The owner of the apartment where Elham was forced to stay has been charged with blackmailing her and attempting to force her to practice prostitution. Investigators from the Department of Moral and Ethical Cases of the Bureau of Investigation and Prosecution (BIP) will detain the sponsor and the apartment owner and search for other Moroccan girls who saw Elham jumping from the third floor of the apartment where she was being held, sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette. Elham recognized the sponsor and the apartment owner when they were summoned by investigators at King Fahd General Hospital where she is undergoing treatment. Investigators did not tell Elham that they had summoned the two accused, but the moment she saw her sponsor and the apartment owner she identified them by name. Elham's parents are divorced. She had to abandon her studies at a Morocco university to care for her mother. In a message sent to Okaz/Saudi Gazette, which broke the story of her ordeal, she wrote: “To all those who have heard about my case, I'm a Muslim Arab woman. I had to leave my country searching for a job in this great country. All criminals who did this to me should be punished. Please help me go back to my family in Morocco before Ramadan.” __
