The Control and Investigation Board (CIB) has asked Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, Emir of Makkah, to direct the region's government bodies to respond to its observations, reported Al-Hayat Arabic newspaper Sunday. It said lack of cooperation by some government agencies has delayed various actions to tackle government shortcomings, and consequently cost the state treasury huge monetary loss. The Emir's Office, according to the newspaper, sent a letter to various government agencies stating the need for them to answer questions from the CIB and from the General Auditing Bureau within one month as per regulations. The letter stated that any further delay would be considered negligence that would be dealt with by sanctions stipulated in the Employees' Discipline Law. It instructed that any employee found responsible of such a delay should be brought to account and questioned. The CIB complained in its letter to the Emir's Office that the delay in responses had in some cases taken more than a year. This has led to unjustified spending of some amounts, using public funds for purposes other than set allocations, and was a violation of Article 11 of the CIB's regulations. __
