TAIF: The Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has urged several government agencies to postpone projects that involve deep digging in urban areas to make sure power outages are not caused by workers severing electricity cables, sources told Okaz/Saudi Gazette. In a letter sent to all these bodies, the SEC maintains that digging has caused great damage to electricity cables, some of which have been cut altogether. A contractor in Taif caused a power outage of more than 50 minutes in the city's Al-Qemryia and Nakhab districts when work on a sanitary drainage network cut a power cable, sources said.
